Minutes from Steering Group meeting, 23rd Nov
Transition Fareham
Meeting at the Red Lion Hotel on 23rd November 2011 from 8.20pm
Attendance: Jonathan (Chair), Jim, John, Paul, Rosemary, Stuart, Esme (Minutes)
1. Finance
Rosemary reported a balance of £142.22 in June this year. Since then a donation of £7.31 was received and £30.00 received from Gosport & Fareham Friends of the Earth as proceeds from the Gardeners’ Fair in the town. £37.31 was paid into the bank. A further £11.65 was handed to Rosemary during the evening giving a final total of £185.19.
2. Community Garden
There are very few people taking part. The Reverend Philip Cochrane is moving but the church of St Columba are still interested in moving to the site and they can raise the funds. It might be helpful to advertise for helpers in the Hub. 15/20 people are needed to keep the garden going. Councillors Katrina Trott and Peter Davies are supportive of the project.
3. Green Drinks
To attract more people to Transition Fareham we should advertise in the Library and on the 42 Council Notice Boards - Jono to design an A5 Leaflet including the Aims of Transition and Pictures of the Community Garden. Another suggestion was to set up a Swop Shop – Jono to contact Ellie to find out how to set up a Swop Shop. John suggested St Philip Howard Hall – what would be the purpose? Fundraising, Recycling, Membership… Jono to act as the contact point. John to contact Fareham Borough Council about their Environmental policy and the leader of the department – is it Roy Brown? Sue Hand? Further suggestions for future projects – Email campaign about Fareham Centre, Letts Scheme…
4. Fareham Transition’s Annual General Meeting will be held at La Saletta on Wednesday 18th January at 7.30pm
